Your family's data, well looked after
What we store, where it lives and how the document vault keeps your most sensitive papers private.
End-to-end encrypted vault
Files in the document vault are encrypted on your device with AES-256 before they're uploaded. The key comes from a password only your family knows, so our servers only ever see encrypted data.
Hosted in Germany
Your family's calendar, lists and documents are stored on servers at Hetzner in Germany and processed under the GDPR.

How the document vault encryption works
When your family sets up the vault, each device derives a 256-bit key from the vault password with PBKDF2-SHA256. File contents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, file names with AES-256. The password itself never leaves your device.
Because only your family knows the password, we can't open your documents — and we can't recover them if the password is lost. Everything else in the app, such as appointments and lists, is transferred over HTTPS and stored on our servers so your family can share it.
